What is a Learning Community?

Learning communities bring together churches from across Wales for two years of inspirational and challenging learning that we believe will help bring clarity, strategy and direction potentially leading to significant breakthrough. In addition, being a part of a cohort of like-minded leaders will enable supportive relationships to be formed and peer-to-peer learning to take place as we make ourselves mutually accountable for what God has called us to do. 

Outline:

The New Wine Cymru / Lead Academy Learning Community consists of 4, 2 day gatherings over a 2 year period. Your team of 4-6 will join a cohort of other New Wine Cymru churches that are equally motivated to grow and move forward. Guided by experienced leaders from Lead Academy and New Wine Cymru we will work through the challenges of leading churches in Wales in the 21st century around 4 areas:

  1. Purpose and culture
  2. Leadership
  3. Mission
  4. Discipleship

All under the banner of the New Wine Cymru vision to see Wales transformed by the person, message and power of Jesus!

Further details:

During each two day gathering, you and your team will have plenty of opportunity to talk and process thoughts and ideas with a view to developing action points unique to your church which you will work on between gatherings. Mentors from Lead Academy and New Wine Cymru will also be on hand to guide and help you where appropriate. Other churches will be on the same journey and there will be opportunities to pray together and learn from one another.

Cornerstone Community Church, Venue 2, Neath Road, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 8EF.

Dates:

21st and 22nd March 2025.

24th and 25th October 2025.

20th and 21st March 2026.

23rd and 24th October 2026.

Cost:

Each of the 4 cohort session costs £450 per church, (deposit due on registration.) Each Session can be paid for as it comes along. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  In addition, there will be the cost of overnight accommodation should you plan to stay in Swansea. 

We recognise that this is a significant investment for your church but believe it has the potential to usher in an exciting season of growth and development and help your church make a greater impact in the place God has planted you.
